1.Vision

e-Development of India as the engine for transition into a developed nation and an empowered society

2.Mission

e-Development of India through multi pronged strategy of e-infrastructure creation to facilitate and promote e- governance, promotion of Electronics & Information Technology – Information Technology Enabled Services (IT-ITeS) Industry, enabling creation of Innovation/Research & Development (R&D) infrastructure in ICT&E, building Knowledge network and securing India’s cyber space.

a) Objectives:

  • e-Government: Providing e-infrastructure for delivery of e-services
  • e-Industry: Promotion of electronics hardware manufacturing and IT-ITeS industry
  • e-Innovation/R&D:  Enabling creation of Innovation /R&D Infrastructure in emerging areas of ICT&E
  • e-Learning: Providing support for development of e-Skills and Knowledge network
  • e-Security: Securing India’s cyber space

b) Objectives are fulfilled through:

  • e-Government: Implementation of Plan Schemes on e-Governance
  • e-Industry: Implementation of Plan Schemes on STPI, Promotion of Electronics Hardware Manufacturing and ITIR.
  • e-Innovation/R&D:  Implementation of Plan Schemes through SAMEER; Microelectronics & Nanotech Development Programme; Technology Development Council (including ITRA); Convergence, Communications & Strategic Electronics;  Components & Material Development Programme; C-DAC; MLAsia; Electronics in Health & Telemedicine; and Technology Development for Indian Languages.
  • e-Learning: Implementation of Plan Schemes on STQC, ERNET, National Knowledge Network, DOEACC, Manpower Development, Skill Development
  • e-Security: Implementation of Plan Schemes on Cyber Security including ICERT and IT Act, Controller of Certifying Authorities.

3.Service Standards

2 (i) Approval of proposals of State Governments for State Data Centres (SDCs) 6 weeks from receipt of proposals
(ii) Release of Installment to State Governments for State Data Centres (SDCs) 4 weeks from receipt of UC & request to release installment
3 (i) Approval of proposals for Setting up of Common Service Centres (CSCs) 6 weeks from receipt of proposals
(ii) Release of Installments to State Governments for Common Service Centres (CSCs) 4 weeks from receipt of UC & request to release installment
